Why some reject Jesus Emmanuel by Cyril of Jerusalem

“It would be opportune to pose this question to Jews: Was the Prophet Isaiah being truthful or false when he said that the Emmanuel would be born of a virgin? If they accuse him of being a liar, they are not doing anything odd: they are accustomed not only to accusing the prophets of lying but to stone them. If, on the other hand, the prophet is truthful, accept the Emmanuel. He who is to come and he whom you await, was he or was he not born of a virgin? If not, you are accusing the prophet of falsehood. But if you are waiting for something that will happen in the future, why do you reject what has already happened?”

Cyril of Jerusalem, Catecheses 12, 2; PG 33, 728 B-C.

I do not mean to offend the Jewish people with this post. How are we acting like those who rejected Jesus in Jesus’ time?. Many Jewish people believed in Jesus but did not publicly declare it. Today, Do you believe in Jesus? If you do, do you behave as someone who believes in Him?
