Christ was poor by Basil of Caesarea

“[Christ] lived in the house of a builder and a poor mother.”

Basil of Caesarea , On the Holy Generation of Christ PG 31, 1464 B.

This quote is good enough to have its own post. Many times we [including myself] complain about not having enough. Christ lived a poor life; he did not live an easy life. His life was difficult from his infancy. Are you happy with what you have ? or do you need more? If you need more, what do you need? And how much more?. Christianity teaches that joy is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Some philosophies [Aristotilian] teach that doing good makes you happy.
