Nursing who nurtures the world by Amphilochius of Iconium

Amphilochius puts words into elder Simeon’s mouth and says:

“It is enough, O Virgin, to be called the Mother. It suffices to be the nurse of him who nurtures the world. It is a great thing to have held within your flesh the One who upholds all things.”

Amphilochius of Iconium, On the birth of Christ 4; PG 39, 41 A.

Virgin Mary was open to God’s invitaion to work in her for the salvation of the world. Would you allow God to work through you for the salvation of your self and those around you? If we allow God to enter into our hearts and lives we will need nothing because we Him who has everything.
