At the feet of the cross by St. Cyril of Alexandria

“The sword was nothing other than the trial of the Passion, a trial so violent that it drove the woman’s soul to absurd thoughts.”

Cyril of Alexandria, Comentary on John 12, 19; PG 74, 664.

Going through trials, we struggle with ourselves to keep up our faith and hope. However hard the trial might be, God does not allow us to go through problems that are beyond each person’s capacity. He knows our capacity and our potential to grow thus allows the trials to enable our growth. And if we fall he will rise us up again.
