“Those who believe in Jesus who was crucified in Judea under Pontius Pilate, but do not believe that he was born of the Virgin Mary, believe and do not believe in the same Person”
Origen, Commentary on John 20, 30; PG 14, 641-44; GSC 10, 367
“Therefore, it is wise to accept the meaning of Scriptures and not to pay attention to those who say that [Jesus] was born through Mary, not of her. The prescient apostle has said: ” But when the fullness of time had come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law” (Gal 4:4). Observe that he did not say: “born through a woman”, but rather, “born of a woman.”
Origen, Commentary on the Letter to Galatians PG 14, 1298
