“His origin was not from Mary, nor does he belong to her time. What, then? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (Jn 1:1). Eternal substance, impassible generation, majesty of nature, which he possesses in union with the Father.
Basil of Caesarea , Against Eunomius 2, IS; PG 29, 601 B-C.
Before the beginning of time, God knew that in the fullness of time, He would be with us, not in thought or an invisible form. God is physically among us. His divine nature united with our nature and gave us life again. We were in His thought before the beginning of time. He bore our human nature and is closer to us than we think. Did you meet Jesus yet?
